Wednesday at the Middle School: Science Week One - Observe, Infer, Communicate!

Our 7th and 8th grade scientists jumped right into the good stuff last week! Ms. LaFrenz kicked off the year by focusing on the core process skills every scientist needs, starting with observation and inference.

Each student picked their own way to display 15 pieces of visual evidence about themselves, and then classmates got to play detective, observing the clues and making inferences. It turned out to be a great way to learn about the science and get to know each other.

Today's challenge brought a twist: communication only! One partner described a mystery picture using just words while the other tried to draw it accurately. No peeking, no pointing, just clear, careful explaining (and a few laughs along the way).

It's a fun reminder that good science starts with looking closely, thinking critically, and sharing ideas clearly. We can't wait to see what these students discover next!
