Instructor Crystal Liliegard's Project B.O.S.S. (Becoming Organized and Self-Sufficient) took their second walking field trip last week, and this time they landed at the library—a place brimming with possibilities and community connection.

The students had the unique opportunity to meet with the library's communications leader, who shared insights into how they reach out to the community and promote the library as an inclusive space for everyone. It was a chance for our young learners to provide real-world feedback on how the library can best engage and appeal to middle school students. Talk about authentic learning!

The visit didn't stop at conversation. The communications department generously gifted Project B.O.S.S with some fantastic swag bags! It was a tangible reminder that the library is a space for exploration, discovery, and fun. But the adventure wasn't over yet. The group made a pit stop at Sam Johnson to burn off energy and celebrate their learning, because sometimes the best part of a field trip is the joy of being together.

Through field trips like these, our middle school students are discovering how community organizations work, how to give meaningful feedback, and how to be active participants in their neighborhoods. Here's to students who explore, question, and connect!
