Culinary Adventures: Recipes Don’t Always Go As Planned (And That’s Okay)
June Term is RPA’s tradition of giving students two weeks to deep-dive into whatever they’re passionate about learning. In Culinary Adventures, that meant real kitchens, real recipes, and real life lessons about what happens when things don’t go exactly to plan.

Instructor Ms. Russell: What Inspired You?
“When recipes or plans do not go correctly, these kids are really good at improvising. For example, we were making homemade pizza and the yellow team had trouble transferring their pizza from the countertop to the baking sheet and made a calzone instead!”
What Happened:

What Students Are Saying:
“I have been cooking since I was nine years old. This course ties into my everyday life. Cooking with friends and learning life skills is fun.” — Landon
“The brownies are kind of salty.” — Tyler (an honest food critic, if nothing else)
Culinary Adventures proved that not every lesson comes from a cookbook. When the pizza wouldn’t cooperate, this class didn’t panic — they adapted, laughed, and made something just as good. This year, students seemed especially passionate about cooking, and just as proud watching classmates enjoy what they made. That’s the real recipe behind a two-week deep-dive into something you actually want to learn.
June Term shows what RPA is all about: flexibility, real learning, and teachers who are genuinely invested in your growth.
