Weekly COVID-19 Mitigation Reminders: Testing
The Redmond Proficiency Academy (RPA) COVID-19 Safety Guide outlines the plan RPA will follow to mitigate the spread of COVID and work to maintain the health and safety of staff, students, and the community.
COVID is still present in the community and RPA will take every precaution to protect our students, staff, and families and remain fully open for students to access in-person learning.
By following the Oregon Department of Education, Oregon Health Authority, and Local Public Health Authority. State and Local Public Health Authority guidance RPA will strive to remain open and provide a safe environment for both staff and students. Additionally, RPA will continue to utilize the Layered Health and Safety Measures in order to help mitigate the spread of COVID. Layered health and safety measures help us maximize full-time, in-person learning and reduce disruptions for students, staff and families.
Testing
COVID testing can be used to determine if a person is COVID positive based on having COVID symptoms or on a COVID exposure.
- If a student is symptomatic on campus, parents can give permission for the COVID Response Team to help the student self administer a COVID rapid test.
- If a student who has no known COVID exposure but has primary COVID symptoms would like to shorten their isolation period, they must obtain a COVID test, the test results must be negative and the student must be symptom-free prior to returning to school.
