Wandering Redmond Enrichment Class Goes Out on the Town

Every Wednesday, Wandering Redmond, an enrichment class at RPA Middle School, walks or shuttles to different location in Redmond to explore its history. Led by Enrichment and Elective Instructor Ginny McPherson, also a former Redmond City Councilor, the class looks for art displays on their journeys, and they talk about the origin of each piece and whether or not they are on loan to the city or have been purchased by the city.

“As a former city councilor, I am totally invested in teaching students about where they live and how they can make a difference,” McPherson said.

According to McPherson, the class is very popular as it gives students opportunities to be outside the building and learn in the process.

“My favorite stories come from students that tell of bringing their parents to our locations and ‘teaching’ them about this awesome city,” McPherson said.
