Three RPA students accepted into competitive Emerging Rural Leaders Program

RPA students freshman Dylan Levi, junior Leith Dollar and junior Amelie Montgomery have been admitted to the next Emerging Rural Leaders Program to be held at the University of Chicago from July 9-14. The competitive program exists for high achieving students who attend rural and small-town high schools across the United States.
Top freshman and juniors from high schools around the country were invited to apply for the opportunity to participate in the week-long enrichment program featuring interdisciplinary classes with leading faculty, tours of UChicago’s cutting-edge research facilities, and college application workshops.
Students will also be exposed to the kinds of opportunities available in large urban centers for academic work and professional development through activities that showcase the city of Chicago. In the past, students have been able to attend improv shows, baseball games, architecture boat tours and eat at some of Chicago’s most notable restaurants.
The successful students submitted an online application, transcripts, supplements and essays and recommendations from at least one teacher.
