RPA Students Attend DECA Leadership Conference

Twelve RPA students attended the Oregon CTE Student Leadership Foundation on Monday, Oct. 17 to learn more about the DECA program. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
The full day of activities included opportunities for learning more about leadership and teamwork through engaging sessions.
“It was way more interactive than I thought it would be – no sheets of paper! I liked how the speaker encouraged us to set our own goals rather than letting other people define what we should do,” said 9th grader Shelby Lewis.
RPA marketing and business instructor Sandy Cloud said they are looking forward to exploring DECA, as it opens up new opportunities to help students understand the importance of networking and building ethical business systems.
