RPA in Costa Rica

Redmond Proficiency Academy High School students, along with teachers Mr. Eberle, Mr. Longstroth, and Mrs. O’Neill, have been in Costa Rica as part of an effort to teach English at a local orphanage and perform environmental conservation work.

They’ve also visited a coffee factory, an oxcart factory, an elementary school and kindergarten, a national park, and ziplined through the jungle, seeing monkeys and other jungle creatures.

Students and staff were able to take the trip to Central America because of RPA’s January Term (Jan Term) course. Running from Jan. 6 to Jan. 23, 2020, Jan Term was created to allow students to explore a subject they would not otherwise take during a regular grading period, and other students to gain more in-depth experience in a subject with which they are already familiar.

Stay tuned for a more in-depth story about RPA in Costa Rica after they return to Redmond this week.
