On Dec. 5, RPA High School hosted a blood drive through the American Red Cross at the high school campus, their first since the pandemic began.

According to junior Bliss Louvar, the drive was more successful than anticipated with 31 donors giving blood, 26 units of blood collected and 78 lives potentially being saved as a result. Donors were made up of students, staff, parents and community members and high school students volunteered to help run the drive.

RPA High School is planning additional drives in the future, with the next one being scheduled in April.

“We want to thank all the students, staff, parents, and community members who donated blood, as well as students who volunteered to help make this possible,” Louvar said.
