RPA celebrates World Teachers’ Day

World Teachers’ Day, also known as International Teachers Day, is held annually on Oct. 5.

Recognized in more than 100 countries, this year RPA will join in the celebration and acknowledgment of teachers for the efforts they make in an increasingly complex, multicultural and technological society.

“The day serves as an opportunity for students, parents, administrators and community members to demonstrate their appreciation for the contributions that teachers have made to their community by providing quality education at all levels,” said Sten Swanston, High School Director. “We’re grateful for the passion, knowledge, and innovation our teachers bring to the classroom. We know they’re ‘all in’ every day of the week to ensure that our students are successful.”

In 2019, World Teachers’ Day will recognize teachers with the theme, “Young Teachers: The future of the Profession.” RPA will celebrate the day with a catered lunch for staff on Friday, Oct.4.

“We want to say ‘thank you so much’ for all the hard work and energy our teachers put into their jobs,” said Amy Kappel, Middle School Director. “The learning they plan, the environment they create, and the relationships they help foster, make RPA the unique place that it is.”
