RPA Announces Leadership Changes for Middle School

With the announcement of Jenn Berry-O’Shea as the new director for the middle school, RPA’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction Amy Kappel has announced the following middle school leadership changes: 

• Sten Swanston, interim director of the middle school since Jan. 2022, will continue on in a Special Services role next year, focusing on providing support for staff to implement plans for students who have social, emotional or behavioral issues.
• Assistant Middle School Director Andrea Adams will return to the classroom to serve as a full-time middle school science teacher, a role she held before becoming assistant director. 

“Sten and Andrea have excelled in their leadership roles at the middle school and we are thankful for their dedication to our students, families and staff,” Kappel said. “I’m excited that Sten has rejoined the RPA team and that Andrea gets to return to her first love: teaching,” Kappel said.  

Both Swanston and Adams will finish out the school year in their current roles, and begin their new roles this August.
