RPA announces freshman college visits

The entire RPA freshman class is invited to attend one of two college visits on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2019, Freshman Advisor Amy Mitchell announced today.

Students will have a choice between two trips, one visiting Oregon State University in Corvallis and Willamette University in Salem, the other visiting Western Oregon University in Monmouth and Linfield College in McMinnville.

The college visits are an opportunity for students to experience what it’s like to be on a college campus. During their tours, they will meet college students who can tell them about their college education, what they might choose to study in college, and how to pay for their education, Mitchell explained.

“Not all of our students will attend a four year university, but we want to make sure they know what it takes to keep that door open as they progress through high school,” Mitchell said. “That path begins freshman year.”

A permission slip for the college tours, complete with trip details and additional information, can be accessed here

Both trips will depart from the downtown RPA campus at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
