Redmond Proficiency Academy celebrates School Board Recognition Month
Redmond Proficiency Academy (RPA) has joined other charter schools and school districts throughout Oregon to celebrate January as “School Board Recognition Month,” Executive Director Jon Bullock announced today.
“We are very appreciative of the hard work and time our board members devote to RPA,” Bullock said. “Their efforts allow us to make good on our promise to revolutionize education, empower students, and put them on a better path for the future.”
Governor Kate Brown signed an official proclamation in December 2019, designating the month of January for recognition of Oregon’s board members. In the statement, she cites how “board members are critical in establishing the inclusive expectations, culture, and conditions that allow for quality teaching and learning.”
The RPA Board is responsible for the scope, depth and quality of education, and is the official policy-making body for the Central Oregon charter school.
In addition to establishing policies for the operation of RPA, the board defines the philosophy of the school, determines educational goals and standards, authorizes curriculum revision or development, and approves personnel recommendations.
“Our board is filled with dedicated individuals with a depth and breadth of knowledge that is essential for RPA’s growth and success,” Bullock said. “I am honored and privileged to work with such wonderful people.”
