Redmond Proficiency Academy boasts a 94 percent on-time graduation rate

The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) recently released Redmond Proficiency Academy’s (RPA) At-A-Glance profile, which shows an on-time graduation rate of 94 percent for the cohort that started school during the 2015-16 school year, up from last year’s rate of 91.33 percent. Historically underserved students also graduated at a 94 percent rate.
“RPA’s improved graduation rate is evidence that our proficiency-based model is working well for our students who are not only advancing to college and career on time, but equipped with the necessary tools to compete at the next level,” Executive Director Jon Bullock said.
ODE produces yearly At-A-Glance School and District Profiles for schools and districts to provide educators an opportunity to communicate directly with parents and community members about their schools and district.
ODE points out that this year’s profiles do not include statewide assessments data, class size data, or attendance data as a result of the necessary statewide school closures and the implementation of Distance Learning for All starting in March 2020, running through the end of the 2019-20 school year. The profiles present all available data not impacted by the state’s response to COVID-19.
“While we’re excited about our increasing graduation rate, we know there is more work to do to ensure that every student who walks through RPA’s doors is able to obtain an education that is uniquely tailored to their needs,” Bullock said.
The annual profiles show Redmond School District with an on-time graduation rate of 84 percent, and the Oregon average on-time graduation rate at 80 percent.
