Pre-ACT Scheduled for October 5

The Pre-ACT will be administered to all 11th grade students on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. The assessment runs about 2.5 hours from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and assesses skills in English language arts, mathematics, reading, and science.  Students are asked to be in their testing location by 7:45 a.m.

Because of the varied educational experiences of our students over the last few years, we feel that it is in everyone’s best interest to have an accurate understanding of students’ proficiency levels in the academic subjects assessed on the Pre-ACT. We also would like students to have the opportunity to prepare for taking the full ACT with Writing in April of 2022, and the Pre-ACT presents a great way for students to prepare. If you would like more information about the Pre-ACT, please visit this link.

After testing, students will be able to eat lunch and then attend their 12:00 p.m. classes. A free school lunch will be provided at 11:15 a.m.

Part of the process for completing the Pre-ACT involves filling in some pretest information. Students will be working on this step throughout this week. If students do not quite complete the pretest items, there will be plenty of time to do so on the test day if desired. The pretest information provides students valuable resources to help with their postsecondary plans, and also provides RPA with important information about our students’ plans for after graduation. More information about the Pre-ACT can be found by following this link.,

Results of the Pre-ACT should be returned within a few weeks, and students will have access to the full score report, their individual answers, and their individual test booklets. These resources present a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on their strengths and find areas on which to focus between the Fall and Spring of this year. Teachers will also be helping students prepare based on the Pre-ACT results.
