Good afternoon RPA students and families,
At the Redmond Proficiency Academy, we are focused on preparing our students for success after high school. To help us achieve this goal, all of our students participate in our ACT assessment program, which provides us with critical information about student progress. The information from our assessment program allows us to build a unique educational program for each of our students. Additionally, student performance on these assessments can qualify students for high school graduation, can certify students for the workforce, and can assist students in gaining entry into colleges and universities. As such, student participation is essential, and I am writing today to ask for your support to ensure that your student actively engages in the ACT assessment process.
On Thursday, September 12, all of our juniors will participate in the Pre-ACT Assessment. The assessment runs from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and all juniors are asked to report to the Glacier Building by 7:45 a.m. on testing day. RPA will be on a special schedule for juniors only. Juniors will be testing all morning and will not attend 8 a.m. or 10 a.m. classes. Juniors will be expected to attend their 12:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. classes. This assessment is mandatory. Our expectation is that all juniors arrive on time, are ready to test, and are prepared to do their best work.
In April, all of our juniors will also take the ACT with Writing assessment, which will follow a similar schedule and process. The Pre-Act Assessment will help students prepare for that assessment. RPA offers these assessments to our students at no charge on a regular school day. This allows our students and families to avoid out-of-pocket costs and the need to make arrangements to get to a testing site on a Saturday. RPA does this because we value the ACT assessments and the important information these assessments provide.
I am asking you to please support and encourage your student to participate in the Pre-ACT Assessment on September 12 at RPA. Thank you for your time and consideration!
Sincerely,
Jon Bullock
Executive Director
