Special Education Services
RPA’s special education services for students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
For students with a disability who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or who may be eligible for an IEP:
RPA contracts with Redmond School District (RSD) to provide special education services for students who are on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or may be eligible for an IEP. RPA staff works with special education staff from RSD to identify, locate, evaluate, and provide services for these students. Once a student has been found eligible for special education services, an IEP team composed of RSD and RPA staff meets with parents to develop (or revise) the student’s IEP, which includes a decision about the appropriate educational placement for the student.
Depending on the student’s unique, individualized educational and related services needs, the IEP team may determine that the RPA educational setting is not the appropriate placement for a child. Therefore, as parents consider whether RPA is the best choice of school for their student, they should be aware of the possibility that their student may be placed in a different educational setting, even though they are enrolled as an RPA student.
New Year, New Tools – Alma
With the start of a new school year, students will be learning new things. As a parent, you’ll get to see how that’s going.
At RPAcademy, we are use Alma, a software system that helps us manage school, classroom, and student information.
Alma, is a secure, easy-to-use online system that brings important school information and tools together in one place. This saves school leaders and instructors time while making it easier to get a complete view of what’s happening with each student’s learning.
In addition to educator tools, Alma offers a parent and student portal to help families stay informed and on track with student learning. The portal provides access to:
- School Calendar
- Staff Directory
- Class Rosters
- Attendance History
- Assignments
- Grades
- Zoom links for online courses
You can also email teachers and school staff through Alma, so you never have to search for their contact information. If you have more than one child enrolled at our school, you will be able to all of their information with a single login.
You and/or your child(ren) will receive an email from Alma with information about how to set up your account and log into the portal. If you have not received this email in the first week of school, please contact RPA at 541-526-0882. You can also find a button to access Alma at the very top of our website at rpacademy.org.
