On February 14, the current year’s wait list retires. At 8am on February 15th, enrollment for the coming school year opens. From February 15th through March 1st, RPA follows Oregon law to provide a two-week time – Open Enrollment – where all applications, no matter when they are submitted in that timeframe, receive the same weight.
As we receive applications, we finish our forecasting for how many students we’ll have space for in the fall. If we receive more than that forecasted number, we will have a lottery to determine who we can offer a place, while the remaining families are at the top of the new wait list. Any applications received after 5pm on March 1st go on the waitlist in the order they were received, below families that have applied during Open Enrollment. Any families that were on the previous wait list and are still interested in attending RPA must reapply after February 15th.
Applying during Open Enrollment is your best chance to get an offer to attend RPA. Click on the image to the left to learn how our Admissions Cycle flows.
From RPA’s beginning in 2009, one of our biggest goals was to create an educational environment that made sense for our children. So we looked at the traditional educational system, we asked a lot of questions, and we moved forward in creating what we think is the best environment for students to be successful – not just in academics, but in life. RPA students have freedom, choice, and flexibility as they engage in their education. Our growth from 150 high school students in 2009 to over 900 students in grades 6-12 tells a story – our Collegiate Model works. And our 92% graduation rate confirms that it works well.
RPA offers freedom, support, and guidance to move your student from where they are to where they want to be – whether that’s a place in a selective university or into a skilled job. Your student’s voice matters at RPA, and we take every opportunity to empower that voice.
