New High School Proficiency Hours program announced

What are Proficiency Hours?

RPA is built upon the idea that in education time is the variable and learning is the constant.

As such, we need to provide multiple opportunities through multiple ways for students to demonstrate their learning. Some students may demonstrate these skills quickly and easily during classroom activities or on assessments, while other students will need additional time.

Our first semester Proficiency Hours provides students with an additional 22.5 hours of instructional time in which they can work individually or in small groups to develop and demonstrate their learning.

What does this mean for your student?

Proficiency Hours are designed to provide students with additional time to engage in enriching learning experiences and to receive additional instruction (both in small groups or individually).

Students who are seeking additional opportunities to demonstrate proficiency, to gain knowledge and skills to improve their proficiency, and/or are in need of additional help to demonstrate proficiency should plan to attend.

Teachers will be inviting students who they feel could benefit from extra time, but all students are welcome to participate in our Proficiency Hours program. Each scheduled Proficiency Hours opportunity will have a core subject focus as noted below.
