Music students preparing for performances, learning new music styles

Students in High School Music Director Jonathan Moore’s classes are currently rehearsing for fall concerts scheduled for Dec. 6-7, and the first Tiny Elevator Concert of the year on Nov. 16.

The Tiny Elevator Concert will feature RPA’s Vocal Ensemble and some original songs from students in the Music Laboratory class.

Students in the Herd of Funk class are learning how to improvise on their instruments and are rehearsing a wide range of styles, from Miles Davis to swing to EDM.

Music Laboratory students are writing original songs to eventually put on an album next spring. They will also produce and promote Tiny Elevator Concerts this year. Student roles will include: sound engineer, marketing, stagehand, gear specialist, performers, organizer, stage manager and more.
