Middle School News students are preparing school newspaper

RPA Middle School’s enrichment class, School News, has been busy this fall learning Canva, digital photography, news brief writing, interviewing skills and editing, with the goal of building the first edition of their school newspaper in time for Halloween.  

“The process has been exciting as there are so many different parts of a newspaper, said instructor Diana Oclair.  

The students are responsible for all aspects of the paper, which will include a news briefs section, a news blurb that will highlight middle school elective options, student artwork, comics, and more.  

The hard copy first edition will also include a special feature article about the middle school fall carnival with a photo collage layout as a center point, and a feature article about the history of Halloween.
