Know What We Did Last Summer: Middle School Students Learn Valuable Babysitting Skills

RPA offers a host of summer camps and classes for middle school and high school students as a way to keep students sharp and engaged during summer months. For this series, Know What We Did Last Summer, we’ll explore some of the offerings from last summer.

Middle school students in instructor Tamara Bremont’s Red Cross Babysitting Training Class had the opportunity to learn important babysitting skills this past summer, earning life-saving certifications along the way.

“This is a great opportunity for middle schoolers who are interested in babysitting,” said Bremont, who has been a Red Cross Instructor for 14 years. “Students learn about children, how to handle difficult situations, and how to respond to a variety of emergency situations”.

Students who took part in this workshop received their Red Cross Babysitting certification along with their pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
