June Term Theatre Class Returns to Oregon Shakespeare Festival

From June 1-2, the RPA Repertory Theatre Studies class took a trip to Ashland to learn from some of the best actors in the state at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF). The trip marks RPA’s first return to the OSF since the pandemic began.

“After years without access to live theatre, many of our students were left in complete awe of the storytelling they shared at OSF,” said Theatre Director Kate Torcom. “The resilience, representation, and sheer joy that took place on those stages will certainly have a lasting impact on this group as they navigate not only what it is to be a theatrical artist, but the human experience.”

Students took in three stage shows, The Tempest, Once on this Island and Revenge Song.

They also participated in an Actor’s Lap Workshop at Southern Oregon University with OSF actor Tyrone Wilson, who is currently playing the king in The Tempest.
