Interactive Learning Class prepares meals for those in need

RPA High School’s Interactive Learning Class, consisting of 22 juniors and seniors, has been busy preparing freezer meals for guest of the Bethlehem Inn in Redmond. Once a month, teachers pick up meat and dry/canned supplies from the shelter and they work with students to plan and prepare the meal in their classroom. They then freeze the meals and deliver them back to the inn. Their meals feed approximately 40 guests.
“I have really enjoyed choosing a theme and planning the meal each month,” said junior Darian Perea. “I have always been interested in cooking, and by making meals for Bethlehem Inn I have learned how to prepare new types of food. It’s not only good for me but also for our community. It has been a lot of fun!”
