I’m confused, the calendar shows that the first day of school for RPA high school is tomorrow (Monday 8/29), but I received an email from my son’s advisor saying that the first day is on Tuesday. Could someone please get back to me and let me know which one is correct? Thank you

RPA is excited to provide students with a number of unique and interesting Fall Term course offerings. We have included the Fall Term 2022 Curriculum Guide and Fall 2022 Master Schedule in this communication so that all students can begin planning their Fall Term course choices. Advisors will also post the Fall Term 2022 Curriculum Guide in their Advisory Google Classroom.
School Day Start and End Times
In order to help with your planning purposes, we want to let you know that the school day runs from 8:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. RPA has always prided itself on its flexible scheduling model and empowering students and families to make choices that best meet their needs and schedules. Students who are seeking a later class start time always have the option to pick classes that begin later in the school day. Students riding the CET bus from Bend, Madras, Prineville, and Sisters are encouraged to ride the second-morning bus route and to begin their school day at 9:00 A.M. You can find more information about CET routes here.

      Student ID and Transportation Information
School pictures will be taken during the first two days of school for students depending on their grade level schedule. Pictures are required for all students, and RPA Student ID cards will be produced during this time. RPA Student ID cards are required for students to access RSD/CET transportation, as well as participate in after-school activities.

Redmond School District will not provide transportation from August 29th-September 2nd. Redmond School District will begin providing transportation for students residing within the Redmond School District on Tuesday, September 6th. Important: Students will need their RPA Student ID card with them every day to ride both Redmond School District and CET bus. Please visit Redmond School District Transportation Services Redmond School District Transportation Services to see if you qualify for transportation. You will be able to look up times/locations of drop-off and pick-up, as well as make a request for a temporary rider if your student is participating in sports.
      Meal Information
Lunch will be offered to all interested students by the Redmond School District starting on Thursday, September 1st at the Downtown Campus. We encourage all families to consider completing the application for meal benefits on the Redmond School District website. This will determine whether your family qualifies for free/reduced breakfast and lunch. We encourage all families to apply as this assists RPA in gaining additional access to funding to support services for our students.

We are looking forward to a productive partnership and an amazing year of learning and growing. We are honored to be a part of your student’s educational journey. If you have any questions about any of this important information, please do not hesitate to call our front office at (541) 526-0882.
