Advanced Freshman Seminar Students Visit Central Oregon Colleges

Advanced Freshman Seminar students were recently able to tour OSU-Cascades and Central Oregon Community College (COCC) as part of an effort to start college and future conversations early.

Marketing and Business Instructor Sandy Cloud explained that helping freshmen understand the concepts and language associated with higher education will mean less stress during their junior and senior years of high school.

Many students had seen OSU-Cascades before, but had never been inside of a dorm room or eating spaces. The freshman were a bit jealous of OSU’s outdoor classrooms!

They ended the day at COCC’s Jungers Culinary Center, where students got to sample breads and their famous chocolate chip cookies.
