Expanded Online Learning Plans

Greetings High School Families,

In preparing to work with your students over the coming weeks, we have created an Expanded Online Learning Plan. The goal of this plan is for our teachers  to offer rich educational experiences that focus on recognizing our students’ unique needs and building compassionate learning communities. This dynamic plan includes Google Classroom, online learning tools, discussions, and videos. We want to provide instruction and resources to give students opportunities to read, write, think, create, and communicate from home. At this time, these activities are not required, but we are providing them as a way in which students can remain engaged in learning and stay connected to RPA, our staff, and their peers. We understand that not all students will have the capacity to participate in online learning during the school closure.  For students who choose to engage in online learning, teachers will provide appropriate feedback in a timely manner. This reinforces our “when you’re ready, we’re ready” approach. For students who may not have been able to participate in online learning, they will be provided the instruction and the time to demonstrate their proficiency once in-person classes resume.

We have also created a Student and Family Online Questions and Answer Guide. We hope this guide answers any questions you may have about our Expanded Online Learning Plan. If you are new to using Google Classroom, we would encourage you to access this Parents’ Guide to Google Classroom.

In these unique times, your well-being is our number one priority – we are here for you when you are ready to learn. We look forward to working with you in the coming weeks and will continue to reach out with updates.

All my best,

Jon Bullock
